Turbo Kick: An Introduction

If you love to dance, but need to let off a little extra steam, Turbo Kick is for you. Turbo Kick is one of Dancing Through Life’s favorite dance/aerobics classes. The exercise and dance class combines everything you love about dancing with all the benefits of kickboxing. With Turbo Kick, participants are able to have fun and enjoy the art of dance while burning hundreds of calories and getting out some raw emotion at the same time.

The Origins of Turbo Kick

Turbo kickTurbo Kick was created by Chalene Johnson in the late 1990’s. Chalene Johnson used her choreography experience with her extensive physical fitness knowledge to create an exercise class that was both entertaining and productive. Classes began to quickly pop up around the country, helping people burn calories.

The dance / aerobics class evolved into several other classes, including TurboFire and an entire TurboJam system. Just a couple of years ago in 2011, Chalene published her first book “PUSH: 30 Days to Turbocharged Habits, a Bangin’ Body, and the Life You Deserve!”. After publishing, Turbo Kick began to make a bit of a comeback.

Dancing Through Life is proud to bring the calorie-destroying class to Davie, Florida. The official Turbo Kick description of “cardio kickboxing and body-sculpting dance moves choreographed to the hottest music mixes” is just about as accurate as a description can be. We use the latest music and the hottest beats to turn the heat up in the dance studio.
